Who are we?
PAALAM – The Bridge to Humanity (PBH) was founded with the aim of addressing the significant gaps in palliative care services across South Asia and immigrant communities in Australia. Our mission is to ensure that those with terminal illnesses have access to comprehensive, culturally sensitive, and compassionate palliative care – regardless of their socioeconomic status, background, or beliefs.

Dr Ganes Pranavan
Director
As a dedicated Medical Oncologist, with extensive experience and passion for improving the quality of life for individuals with incurable illnesses, Dr. Ganes leads the Paalam team and its mission for improving palliative and health care services across South Asia.
Dr Senthan Ponniah
Deputy Director
Being a renowned allied health professional with over 20+ years of experience as an Anaesthetist, Dr. Senthan Ponniah leverages his experiences working in both Sri Lanka and Australia to bridge knowledge and health care service gaps amongst communities with the biggest voids.
Dr Raj Rajadorai
Secretary
Working as a Senior Palliative Care Physician across more than 5 different countries, Dr. Raj brings his wealth of experience to shape the palliative care support and training that Paalam provides, with cultural sensitivity.
Mr Kuga Kugathas
Treasurer
With professional background in Engineering and Management sectors, Kuga passion to give back has lead to his involvement with numerous charities and not for profit organisations, but locally and internationally. Kuga brings his extensive experience in the not for profit space to support Paalam's mission.
Dr Premalatha Sathyanarayanan
Dr. Premalatha's broad experience in the Medical and Disability & Aged Care sectors in both India and Australia, sparked Premalatha's long standing passion to be involved with charitable projects that work to enhance the quality of life of vulnerable people, including her work with several rural medical camps across South Asia.
Mr Senthan Sanchayan
As Public relations Officer, Senthan's objective is to communicate the impact of Paalam's work and help our community get involved. With experienced working in both corporates and creative agency startups, Senthan utilises new media strategies to platform Paalam.
Mr Thuraisamy Ravichander
As a Radiation Oncology Medical Physics Specialist, Thraisamy's deep committed to support terminally ill patients and their families (particularly those with low socioeconomic backgrounds) lead his involvement with Paalam. Here, his dedication is to enhance quality of life and ensure all receive the support and dignity they deserve.

General Practitioner by profession, Dr. Suda Paravan's focus areas of mental health, domestic violence, sexual violence and child abuse is fueled by her desire to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need and contribute to creating a healthier and safer community.
